The Origin
Story
From One Office to
One Global Network
In 2002, Rodney Stone established his first accounting practice with a clear vision: to challenge traditional accounting and deliver greater value by combining technical excellence, commercial insight and emerging technologies. His aim was to help shape a modern profession that gives businesses deeper insights, better decisions and stronger long‑term growth.
As the practice grew, Lydia Atwell joined, bringing her strength in technical excellence, operational leadership and client service. Together, they built a firm that blends professional expertise with practical business advice, innovation and genuine client relationships.
In 2017, Rodney and Lydia founded STONE Accounting Group, building a firm around this modern view of accounting and advisory - aimed not simply at compliance, but at redefining what accounting, advisory and business support look like in the twenty-first century.
As client needs evolved, STONE expanded beyond its original foundations, responding to businesses seeking advisers who combine deep local knowledge with broader commercial insight and international capability. The firm has grown into a network of experienced accounting professionals united by shared values, professional excellence and a commitment to helping businesses succeed.
